Lauretta Wright

With a background in journalism, Lauretta spotted a gap in the market for a great quality magazine brimming with inspiring, positive and engaging community news and features.

So, in 2019, she launched Life In Orpington, followed by Life In Bromley two years later and then Life In Beckenham in 2024. The 3 much-loved magazines are printed and distributed across the Bromley borough every month – 21,000
magazines delivered through letterboxes and a small number left at pick-
up points. There is also a growing digital following.

In 2023 Lauretta launched the ‘Above and Beyond Bromley Business Awards’ (The ABBBAs) to highlight and celebrate local businesses who go ‘above and beyond’ for their customers, industry or wider community.

The prestigious annual event takes place in November and attracts over 300 business attendees looking to support one another, celebrate the borough’s best businesses, network and be entertained – all in one night!

Outside of the office, Lauretta enjoys volunteering in the community. She regularly donates her time to Air Search, which assists the emergency services, as well as the Bereavement Café in Orpington. She also hosts a fortnightly Quiz Night for the elderly at a local residential home.

Lauretta is an Ambassador and a Mentor with Startup Bromley and loves nothing more than brainstorming marketing ideas.

Lauretta’s vision is to continue to grow Life In Magazines into a media agency and the company now offers videography services, graphic design, copywriting, social media and leaflet distribution.

About Life In…Magazines

Life In…Magazines has grown to become a multi award-winning business and the monthly magazines focus on positive news, celebrate local people and encourage people to support local by shopping local.

The magazines offer a platform for local businesses to advertise and get seen in front of thousands of residents every month. Options are varied and prices depend on the size of the advert and the duration of the campaign.

There are benefits for those choosing a longer ad campaign including free social media promotion and editorial, a free premium business directory listing (which includes a backlink to websites and logo) and the gift of a tree donation in partnership with Time4Trees. The trees are planted near the QE II bridge in Dartford, which has been identified as a
highly polluted area.

The magazines have grown to become a much-loved and reputable brand, not just with readers, but also with advertisers. They consistently attract established businesses including Biggin Hill Airport, Mytime Active, Bromley FC, Tapi Carpets and The Churchill Theatre looking to align their brand with Life In…Magazines.

The company continues to innovate and in 2025 has launched an app for Bromley residents – the first of its kind in the Southeast.
